'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane dampens on Premier League homecoming

Kane celebrates his 100th goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has stated that his interest in returning to the Premier League has diminished and he is prepared to explore a new agreement with Bayern Munich.

The prolific striker is currently halfway through the four-year contract he agreed to when moving to from Tottenham Hotspur for 86.4 million pounds in the transfer window of 2023.

The experienced forward has accumulated an impressive 103 goals in 106 games for the German team, contributing them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which was the maiden important honor of his illustrious career.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has earlier stated that he would be pleased to see Kane return to England, where he needs 48 goals to surpass Alan Shearer's historic Premier League scoring record of 260.

However, the England captain has now clarified that he is no longer as enthusiastic about going back home as he earlier was, and would certainly think about prolonging his stay in Bavaria.

"In terms of remaining longer, I could certainly see that," he remarked.

"I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise I would be prepared to talk and have an honest conversation.

"Obviously it relies on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a superb moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had inquired me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would perhaps say that has diminished a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have discovered in my career is that different opportunities and different moments happen and things align. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."

Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the record top marksman for both Tottenham and England and lately became the speediest player this century to hit 100 goals for a club participating in one of Europe's top five divisions, reaching the milestone in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a trophy had escaped him until he secured the German title last season.

Kane admits that he was not sure how he would react after ending his trophy wait, but now believes it has made him eager for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be easy to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he continued.

"But it's given me more inspiration to do more and be better. I think I've proven that this year.

"I was curious in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to attain in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I challenged myself the other way in terms of being even better, eating even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Looking Ahead

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's primary focus
  • The chance of a Premier League return has noticeably decreased
